Index No. A4950 Gold English Quarter Repeating Cylinder
An early 19th Century English quarter repeating cylinder in a gold consular case. Full plate fire gilt movement with fusee and chain, the edge of the dial plate engraved. Pierced and engraved masked cock, diamond endstone in a polished steel setting, silver regulator disc. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, large steel escape wheel, lateral steel stop lever. Push pendant quarter repeating, originally on gongs, now striking the side of the case. Winding through the fine white enamel dial, subsidiary seconds, Arabic numerals, blue steel seconds hand, gold hands. Plain 18 carat gold consular case, a monogram engraved on the back. Gold oval push pendant, maker's mark "DW".
