A late 18th Century French calendar verge with an unusual decorative dial in a silver case. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring, blue steel indicator on a silver index, pentagonal pillars. Unusual enamel dial with subsidiaries for time and date with Arabic numerals pierced gilt hands. The chapters in an unusual dark blue ground with wavy rings in white radiating from the date circle resembling engine turning. Fitted in a contemporary silver open face case.
