A mid 19^th Century Swiss independent seconds lever in a gold open face case. Keywind gilt bar movement with two suspended going barrels, one for the going train, the other for the independent seconds. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. English lever escapement. Fully restored white enamel dial with centre seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Engine turned 18 carat open face case with a small slide in the ribbed middle to control the seconds hand. Wound and set through the plain gold cuvette, maker's mark "Favre".
