A late 18th Century French verge in a gold and enamel consular case. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with gilt indicator. Round pillars. Winding through the signed white enamel dial, Roman numerals set vertically, fine pierced gold hands. Fully restored gold and polychrome enamel case. The back decorated with a young woman feeding swans in the upper half appearing to be resting on a dark blue and gilt vase in the lower half. Border of white, blue and gilt enamel repeated on the front bezel, rectangular gold and enamel pendant.
