A Swiss lever in an early 19th Century silver medal. Small Swiss lever movement with going barrel. Silvered dial with Arabic numerals bordered by a broad milled band, blue steel hands. Early 19th Century silver medal with a classical bust in high relief, the text "Britanniar · Rex · F · D · Georgius · IIII · D · G · Barre F De Puymaurin D" around it. Glass to cover the medal. Octagonal red morocco covered case.
Baron Jean Pierre Casimir de Marcassus de Puymaurin was Master of the Paris Mint from 1816-1830. A large number of the medals issued at the Mint during his tenure of office bear his name De Puymaurin D (Baron de Puymaurin Direxit) beside the signature of the artist.
