Index No. A6241 Gold Duplex by Pennington
A small early 19th Century English duplex with gold dial in a gold open face case.  Keywind gilt Lepine calibre movement, the suspended going barrel with unusual covered Geneva stop work.  Wound and set from the back, the hand set square placed very close to the edge of the movement.  Plain cock with polished steel regulator, diamond endstone. Plain three arm gold balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Gold dial, decoratively engraved at the centre, subsidiary seconds, applied gold Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, gold Breguet hands.  Engine turned 18 carat open face case with ribbed middle, small monogram on the back cover.  Wound and set through the signed and numbered gold cuvette, maker's mark "JW" in a rectangle.
