Index No. A4044 REPEATING GOLD ENAMEL VERGE WITH CHATELAINE

A very fine 18th Century quarter repeating English verge in gold and enamel pair cases together with matching gold and enamel chatelaine and accessories. Full plate fire gilt movement with signed and number dust cover. Pierced and engraved masked cock, diamond endstone, silver regulator disc. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Push pendant quarter repeating on a bell in the back of the case. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, gold beetle and poker hands. Gold pair cases, the inner profusely pierced and engraved. Heavy gold outer case, the bezels set with rows of split pearls and decorated with bands of translucent violet and white enamel, pierced by a row of fine holes. Gold back of translucent violet enamel over an engine turned ground. Matching gold and enamel chatelaine, its components of the same colours with threaded pearls and fine white enamel dots to imitate pearls. Matching gold and enamel key and seal. The buckle and backing of the central plaque in gilt metal. Fitted morocco covered case lined with beige velvet.
