A mid 18th Century English verge in gilt metal pair case, the outer covered in underpainted horn. Full plate fire gilt movement with square baluster pillars. Pierced and engraved masked cock, pierced and engraved foot and plate for the silver regulator disc. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Plain three arm gilt balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Fine white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands. Gilt metal pair cases, the outer case covered in horn underpainted to simulate green tortoiseshell. Decorative copper pique pins to bezel and edge of the back.
The outer case in unusually fine condition.
