Index No. A4028 SILVER FRENCH VERGE WITH POLYCHROME DIAL

A late 18th Century French verge with polychrome enamel dial in a silver open face case. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Regulator dial with gilt indicator, pentagonal baluster pillars. Winding through the white enamel dial with central polychrome enamel scene of a soldier sitting on a drum beside a cannon. Arabic numerals, blue steel Breguet hands. Plain silver open face case with ribbed middle.



The white chapter ring on the dial has been restored leaving the original scene untouched. This can only be seen with the aid of an eyeglass.
