A very rare pocket compass with Turkish markings in a gold and enamel case. White enamel dial with the points of the compass marked in Turkish characters, blue and polished steel needle. The gold band, pendant and bow of the case decorated in blue and black champleve enamel. The back decorated in polychrome enamel depicting a floral array on a light green ground.
