A late 17^th Century French oignon with cartouche dial in a decorative gilt metal consular case. Deep full plate fire gilt movement with slender Egyptian pillars, fusee and chain. Large pierced and engraved bridge cock, three arm gilt balance. Blue steel hand and silver regulator disc. Wound through the engraved gilt metal dial, white enamel hour ring and cartouches with blue Roman numerals, later single blue steel hand. Large gilt metal consular case profusely chased and engraved, gilt pendant and ring bow.
