An early 18^th Century French oignon verge in a shagreen covered gilt metal consular case. Deep full plate gilt fusee movement with slender Egyptian pillars. Pierced and engraved bridge cock, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Engraved silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Pierced silver decoration either side of the index dial and between the plates. Winding through the fine white enamel dial, raised cartouches for the Roman numerals, Arabic minute markings, fine pierced gilt hands. Gilt metal consular case covered in black shagreen, gilt pique pins.
