Index No. A3934 GOLD QUARTER REPEATING AUTOMATON

An early 19th Century Swiss quarter repeating automaton verge in a gold open face case. Full plate fusee verge movement. Pierced and engraved bridge cock, endstone in a polished steel setting, silver regulator dial. Pendant quarter repeating on two gongs. Small white enamel ring dial with gilt Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Either side of the dial are pierced chased and engraved gilt classical figures set above the visible polished repeating work on the decoratively engraved plate. As the watch strikes the hours and quarters the arms of the figures move as though striking the bells between them. Eighteen carat gold open face case with ribbed middle, the back decorated with geometric engine turning. Gold push pendant, signed gilt cuvette.
