A 19th Century Swiss lever with independent seconds in a decorative gold open face case.
Keywind gilt bar
movement with two suspended going barrels, the larger for the going train the other for the
independent seconds.
Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel spiral
hairspring. Club foot lever
escapement. White enamel dial with centre seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds
hand, gilt hands. Slim 18
carat open face case with ribbed middle, small gold slide to operate the independent seconds
train. Chased and
engraved bezels, pendant and bow. The back finely engraved with a classical scene. Signed
gold cuvette covered in
decorative engraving and inscribed "Secondes Independantes Echappement a Ancre
Levees visibles vingt trous en
Rubis Balancier Compense".
