Index No. A3909 SILVER ENGLISH FUSEE WITH OWNER'S NAME

A 19th Century English fusee lever with the owners name on the dial in a silver open face case. Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement with dust cover. Harrison's maintaining power. Plain cock with diamond endstone engraved "Patent", on the foot. Polished steel regulator with silver sector index, plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. English table roller lever escapement escape and lever pivots with endstones. Off white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, blue steel hands. In place of the numerals the owners name, "SAMUEL INGRAM". Plain silver open face case, number corresponding to that on the movement and maker's mark "IC" in a rectangle.

The practice of using the owners name to replace the numerals on the dial was never very common but is very rarely found on watches later than 1820.
