A late 17th Century German clockwatch with silver champleve dial in silver pair cases. Deep full plate fire gilt movement with five turned baluster pillars. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Replaced contemporary pierced and engraved winged cock with pierced and engraved foot. Winding through the plain brass balance, silver regulator disc. Hour striking on a bell in the case, blue steel hammer, engraved gilt resting barrel. Strike silent lever and lateral steel lever to release the striking train at will. Signed silver champleve dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands. The silver pair cases pierced with graduated circular holes in a decorative matching pattern. Split bezel to the inner and large square hinge to the outer, maker's mark "SG".
