Index No. A3938 SILVER FRENCH QUARTER REPEATER

An early 19th Century French verge with visible quarter repeating work in a silver open face case. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with garnet endstone, a section left open to reveal the plain three arm gold balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Engraved bridge to the fusee and engraved barrel with blued regulator disc, and also an engraved bridge to the repeating mainspring. Push pendant quarter repeating on two steel gongs. Silvered ring dial with Arabic numerals, the centre glazed to reveal pierced gold motion work and the polished steel repeating work, gilt hands. Engine turned silver open face case with ribbed middle, silver push pendant, signed sprung gilt cuvette.
