An early 18th Century quarter repeating French verge in a silver consular case. Deep full
plate fire gilt movement
with fusee and chain. Gilt Egyptian pillars with turned finials. Pierced and engraved silver
bridge cock, plain three
arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring, steel indicator to the silver index. Push
pendant quarter repeating
on utilising only one hammer to loudly strike a bell in the case. Fine early white enamel dial,
the blue Roman
numerals on raised cartouches, black Arabic numerals, gilt hands. Silver consular case
decoratively chased and
engraved, the back delicately pierced.
