A mid 18th Century English verge in fine gilt metal repousse pair cases and a protective outer covered in tortoiseshell. Full plate fire gilt movement with square baluster pillars. Pierced and engraved cock with polished steel endplate secured by two screws. Pierced and engraved foot and plate for the silver regulator disc. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. White enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands. Gilt pair cases, the inner plain with swivel pendant and bow. The outer case decorated with a classical scene in finely chased and engraved repousse work within a rococo frame. A third protective outer case of gilt metal covered in red tortoiseshell and decorated with gold pique work.
