A 19th Century quarter repeating lever with offset seconds by Nicole Nielsen in a gold half hunter case. Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel, Nicole's patent steel winding work above the plate. Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. English lever escapement, escape and lever pivots with endstones in a polished steel setting. Quarter repeating on two polished steel gongs. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds offset at 11 o'clock, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain 18 carat half hunter case with screwed on gold chapter ring of blue enamelled Roman numerals. Recessed gold repeating slide, clip on back, number corresponding to that on the movement and maker's mark "AN" in a rectangle.
