Index No. A3852 GOLD FREESPRUNG ENGLISH MINUTE REPEATER

A fine late 19th Century English freesprung minute repeater in a gold full hunter case. Gilt half plate keyless movement with raised going barrel. Plain cock with diamond endstone. Compensation balance with freesprung blue steel overcoil hairspring. English double roller lever escapement. Screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones. Slide minute repeating on two polished steel gongs. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Very substantial plain 18 carat full hunter case, recessed gold slide, thief proof swivel pendant and bow. Later dedication on the gold cuvette, case maker's mark "FT" in an oval.
