Index No. A4133 18th CENTURY SWISS VERGE in a GOLD ENAMEL BOX

A late 18th Century Swiss verge in a fine gold and enamel box. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Round pillars. Winding through the white enamel dial with and Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Fine fully restored circular gold and enamel box. Decorated on the base, side and top in dark blue translucent enamel over an engine turned ground with a band of champleve light blue and white enamel at the edge. The top half of the box contains the movement under a glazed sprung pearl set bezel. Makers mark on both halves "RF" over "C".
