Index No. A3821 GOLD WALTHAM CHRONOGRAPH

A late 19th Century fly-back chronograph lever by Waltham in a gold full hunter case. Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Plain cock with steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement, engraved gilt bridge to the lever. Frosted steel chronograph work above the top plate, two large chronograph wheels and small transfer wheel under a gilt "S" shaped bridge which bisects the plate. Screwed in jewelling. Signed white enamel centre seconds chronograph dial with subsidiary seconds, Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain 14 carat full hunter case with ribbed middle, vacant shield shaped cartouche on the front cover. Makers mark "AW CO" in an oval cartouche.
