A large early 19th Century English verge with subsidiary seconds in silver pair cases, the outer engraved with a detailed erotic scene. Full plate fusee movement with gilt dust cover. Engraved bell shaped cock, later garnet endstone, gilt regulator on top plate below the plain three arm steel balance, lateral steel stop lever. Fully restored white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, gilt hands. Matching silver pair cases, silver oval pendant and bow, maker's mark "JW" in an oval. The inner engraved with two small initials. The back of the outer engraved with a detailed erotic scene of couple taking a diversion from afternoon tea.
