A late 19th Century American lever in a gold full hunter case. Full plate gilt keywind movement. Engraved cock, blue steel regulator, silver index on the plate. Compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Screwed in jewelling, club foot lever escapement. Signed white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain full hunter case with deep foliate engraving at the pendant and hinges, maker's mark "C & J" in a rectangle.
