A 19th Century Swiss lever with a rare form of mainspring in a silver open face case. Gilt
keyless movement, the
train under an "A" shaped bridge. The unusual helical mainspring acting directly on the stem
drives a small contrate
wheel which engages the centre wheel. compensation balance with blue steel overcoil
hairspring. Club foot lever
escapement. The plate of the watch marked with a Swiss patent number 5019 - 14528
and an miniature
representation of the mainspring. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman
numerals, gold hands. Plain
silver open face case glazed clip on cuvette, gilt winding crown.
