A fine late 19th Century English keyless fusee lever with freesprung balance and power reserve indicator in a gold open face case. Gilt half plate keyless movement with fusee and chain. Harrison's maintaining power. Plain cock with diamond endstone. Compensation balance with freesprung blue steel overcoil hairspring. English double roller lever escapement, escape and lever pivots with endstones. Screwed in jewelling to the centre, winding a set hands squares. Numbered white enamel dial with subsidiaries for power reserve and seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain 18 carat open face case, a monogram engraved on the back cover. The watch can only be wound when the back cover is open and is set by depressing a small gold thumb piece. Number corresponding to that on the movement and maker's mark "PW" in an oval.
