An early 20th Century Swiss wrist watch with protective half hunter cover. Keyless nickelled
bar movement with
going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator. Uncut bimetallic balance with spiral
hairspring. Club foot
lever escapement. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, luminous Arabic numerals and
hands. Early wrist
watch in a plain silver half hunter case with blue enamel chapter ring. The unglazed cover is
opened by depressing a
button below the seconds subsidiary. London import marks for 1917.

Although this watch displays the influence of pocket watches it was designed as a wrist
watch. Unlike many wrist watches of
the periodit is not a small ladies pocket watches with lugs added on. The protected face of
the
watch suggest it may have
been intended for military use in the field.
