Index No. A4418 SILVER WORLD TIME CALENDAR BALL CLOCK

A rare Swiss double sided lever with seven world time dials and half perpetual calendar in a silver ball clock. Keyless gilt bar movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator. Club foot lever escapement. Compensation balance with blue steel hairspring. Fully restored white enamel dial marked "Greenwich Time", combined subsidiary seconds and month, subsidiaries for day, date and moonphase. Roman numerals, blue steel hands. On the opposite side of the watch seven small chapters with Roman numerals marked "Paris - New York - St Petersburg - Calcutta - Melbourne - Vienna - Berlin". Substantial plain silver case with two hemispheres of lightly coloured glass, one with a flat to allow the clock to stand. Thumb sets for the time and calendar in the band.

A rare clock, sometimes found as a double sided watch. The calendar accounts for the differing lengths of the months but must be changed manually at the leap years when February has 29 days.
