Index No. A5156 Waterbury Duplex in Original Box
A late 19th Century American duplex in a silver open face case. Gilt keyless movement with going barrel. Polished steel regulator, index on the top plate, uncut balance with spiral hairspring. Pressed brass duplex escape wheel. Signed white enamel dial with Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Engine turned silver open face case, clip on back and bezel. Original cardboard box lined with purple material containing the instructions to return the watch to a London agent for repair. On the lid the following information about the watch are given: Short Wind - Stem Set - Quick Train - Jewelled - Enamel Dial - Six Jewels. On the underside of the box "Have you seen the Improved Watches now manufactured by The Waterbury Watch Co - 100 New Designs in all the fashionable sizes Warranted silver and gold, Open face, Chatelaine and hunting cases, Finely Finished Throughout, And Beautifully Hand Engraved Ask your dealer to show you the full line".
