An early 19th Century English verge in gilt metal and underpainted horn pair cases. Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement. Engraved bell shaped cock with diamond endstone, polished steel regulator, plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Gilt metal pair case, the outer covered in horn underpainted with a decoration of fern around the bezel and a narrow border on the back. A scene of a shepherd and a woman seated by a river bank with a church and houses in the background painted onto the underside of the horn within a gilt border. Gilt pique pins.
