escapement. Screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones. White enamel dial with subsidiaries for seconds and power reserve, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain 18 carat full hunter case, two fly-springs to the front cover. On the back and engraved monogrammed shield surrounded by thistles bearing the motto "Auld Lang Syne - Memo Me Impune Laces Sit". On the front cover the dedication "Frae My Bairns - Jany 1st 1881". Wound and
set through the gold cuvette, maker's mark "JW" in a rectangle.
