A 19th Century English verge with an engraved gilt metal dial with enamelled chapter in silver pair cases. Full plate fire gilt fusee movement with round pillars. Pierced and engraved masked cock, plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Unusual blue steel regulator disc controlling a pointer with its index on the top plate. Gilt metal dial, the white enamel chapter with Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Engraved gilt centre and the edge inscribed "Keep me clean and use me well and I to you the truth will tell". Matching silver pair cases, silver oval pendant and bow. Maker's mark "VR" in an oval.
