A late 18th Century English verge in gilt metal and tortoiseshell pair cases. Full plate fire gilt fusee movement with round pillars. Pierced and engraved cock, silver regulator disc. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, fine gold arrow hands. Gilt metal pair cases, the outer covered in blonde tortoiseshell decorated with copper pique pins. The inner gilt metal case plain with maker's mark "WM" below a star.
