| Index No. M8304 | Flat Wheel Cylinder Movement |
| A large 19th Century Swiss full plate brass keywind movement, the going barrel with centrally placed teeth. Plain cock with blue steel coqueret, brass regulator. Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, rare flat brass escape wheel. | ||
| Anonymous | Swiss | |
| Circa | 1790 | |
| Very good, requires cleaning. Lacking motion work and dial. | |||
| Diameter | 58 mm | ||
| Depth | 13.5 mm | ||
| A rare variation of the cylinder escapement which simplifies manufacture of the escape wheel but limits the arc of the balance. The finish and construction of this movement suggest it may have been in a small clock. |
