| A very rare mid 18th Century Swiss movement with experimental escapement. Full plate gilt movement with a hybrid form of flat wheel cylinder and verge escapements. Brass escape wheel with two sets of twelve teeth. The lower teeth acting in a similar way to a flat wheel cylinder, resting
on the outside of the cylinder and providing impulse on entry. However it does not rest on the inner surface of the cylinder as at this point the upper set of teeth provide impulse to the pallet above the cylinder. Steel endstones to the escape pivots. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel endstone, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Pentagonal baluster pillars.
Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Winding through the white enamel dial with Arabic numerals.
