| Index No. M8112 | Rare German Astronomical Movement |
| A very rare late 18th Century German cylinder with astronomical work. Unusual full plate centre seconds gilt keywind movement, large circular cock for the balance, part covering the mainspring in the resting barrel. Cylinder escapement, small brass escape wheel with few teeth. Complex under dial work with three arbors, the one at six o'clock for time. At ten o'clock the arbor has two hands, probably for date and moonphase. At two o'clock the arbor again has two hands, one rotating about once every 36 days and the other once a year (shown with this wheel removed). | ||
