| Index No. A5951 | Eight Day Table Alarm |
| An interesting 20th Century Swiss eight day lever alarm in the form of an early drum table clock. Nickelled three quarter plate movement with two large going barrels wound by turning the fixed key back and forth. Plain cock with steel regulator, shockproof jewelling, plain two arm balance with spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Signed off white dial with Roman numerals, small sector aperture for the 24 hour alarm time, blue steel hands. Gilt drum shaped case with hinged lid of openwork form to imitate filigree work. The dust cover to the movement is struck by the alarm hammer and served as a bell | ||
| Signed | Jaeger Recital | |
| Condition | Circa | 1960 |
| Case | Excellent. | ||
| Dial | Excellent. | Diameter | 74 mm |
| Movement | Excellent. | Depth | 40 mm |
| An interesting recent alarm with good quality movement. It is unusual that the alarm barrel is the same size as the going barrel and would only need winding once a week, the alarm stopping automatically after about 30 seconds. |
