A late 19th Century eight day Swiss lever in a nickel open face case contained in an unusual
silvered case. Gilt
three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel
regulator, compensation
balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Signed white enamel
dial with subsidiary
seconds, Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Plain open face nickel case. Unusual silvered
circular keep case, the
base with three screw holes at an angle to mount below eye level on a wall. Glazed bayonet
fitting front bezel. On
top a hinged cover marked "Patent" which can be locked shut by a clock key. When closed it
secures the front bezel
and covers the winding crown so that the time may not be altered or the watch wound.
